Top 10 Popular Japanese Anime

Japanese Anime are the Japanese cartoon strips and are all developed from the Manga strips- that are the Japanese comics.

The job of choosing the best Japanese Anime series is a tough deal as there has been inflation in the world of anime and there are quite a huge number of them.

The best  Japanese anime is the one which the viewers swoon about, which gets merchandised into and those which grow into cult favourite.

They are the ones that viewers all over the globe are constantly in the want off. It all began in my child hood with the anime like Pokémon, Dragon ball zee, Naruto and Shin Chan.

Japanese anime or animation is one of the highest grossing in the animation industry because of their rich character detailing and diversified content and story line with different genre.

The World Wide Web has made it possible for  Japanese Anime lovers to watch their loved series for free and even build up a collection of the same.

That was a lot of introductory blabbering and without much of a further ado let us begin with the top

1.MOB PSYCHO 100
The story revolves around Kageyama Shigeo A.K.A Mob a middle school boy who has an unimpressive appearance.

However hidden beneath the mask of that appearance is a person with a powerful gift the gift of being a psychic with the ability to exorcise almost any supernatural being with ease.

However caught in a power war with another man Mob loses his interest in his powers and wants to lead the life of a normal boy.

Mob Psycho 100 is all about fleshed out ideas and characters with almost negligible flash and spectacle and that is why it made to the top of my list as one of the popular anime.

2.SHOKUGEKI NO SOMA: NI NO SARA (FOOD WARS! THE SECOND PLATE)
This is the second season of the hit series Food Wars!

The show is completely about cooking battles and the display of culinary expertise by the characters.

The imagery leads you to have a clear conception about how delicious the food that is prepared by the characters is.

The show is an admixture of extravagance and absurdity and it is what you go to watch when all that you are looking for is fun time and nothing more or nothing less than that.

3.KIZNAIVER
This is a production from the house of Studio Trigger.

The story revolves around a government agency dealing with the ideas to bring about world peace, the idea about understandability among each and every individual.

They are unable to make ends meet and make their idea a success thus they do the next best possible action, by kidnapping a group of teenagers in order to bring among them a understanding and also form a bond through their sense of pain.

As the story is a grounded mafia gangster fiction.

6.HAI TO GENSOU NO GRIMGAR (GRIMGAR OF FANTASY AND ASH)
It is an anime which is of the genre where characters are trapped in a video game with no prior knowledge of their life before being summoned to this video game world.

The characters are seen to fight monsters and sell their parts to earn gold.

The monsters in the game are very much realistic and a lot of flesh and blood just likes the characters.

The series may appear slow and even flat to many anime followers but then again everyone has their own personal choice.

7.YURI!!! ON ICE
It is the story of a professional ice skater Katsuki Yuri who feels dejected on coming out with a horrible performance at the Grand Prix Final.

The story progresses with Yuri’s practice video going viral and for him are being again brought back to the lime light.

The reason why this anime series got a low rank in the list is because the story line is in actuality very normal.

There is little or almost nothing extraordinary about it. It made it to the list because of the heart and passion which is carries in its scenes.

8.ORANGE
The story is about Takamiya Naho a school girl who receives a letter, one that she has written to herself.

This Japanese anime is about time travel and hold the interest of the viewer because of the twists and turns that is has.

9.ANSATSU KYOUSHITSU(ASSASSINATION CLASSROOM) SEASON 2

Released in 2015 it is a funny and humor filled series however the major twist in the series is that the students are training to kill their teacher who is trying to destroy the world.

Maac Chowringhee Handmade Calendar Competition

Maac Chowringhee welcomes New Year with an in house event.

A good event happens when opportunity meets with a good planning.

Similar is the opportunity for the ongoing events of MAAC Kolkata.

Our center is continuing its events from the very beginning of its origin.

With the beginning of this year, we have brought to our students a handmade calendar making competition for the month of January.

Our students effectively participate in the events and show their best talent when it comes to handmade creation.

In the present event, they have incorporated many cartoon characters while making their innovative New Year calendars.

The MAAC Chowringhee authority takes this initiative to assemble their students together and work with a competitive attitude to meet the events’ needs.

‘Make a Handmade Calendar‘ event organized by the academic department of MAAC Chowringhee are operational in every month of every year.

Several weekly and monthly events are also organized to engage students’ focus on the other areas relating to extracurricular activities apart from academics.Maac Chowringhee

The active participation of the students is reflected in their creations.

One of the students has produced a unique piece of Mickey Mouse calendar.

The calendar is made by cutting, crafting, painting and creating the popular character of children’s show Mickey.

Mickey Mouse has been an all-time favourite show of toddlers and children.

The calendar is crafted with exclusive calendar numbering techniques, several coloring variations and bubbles shown along with the other characters of the specific show.

Another exceptional art of creation can be seen in a calendar portraying ‘Angry Birds‘ and its various characters.

The famous movie character ‘Angry Bird’ and its other companions are well crafted with multiple colour differences in the calendar.

The calendar is followed by a unique sequence of holiday markings, not in red colour but all national holidays are marked with the red colour face of the character ‘Angry Bird‘.

The season of Christmas is still on its wings flying high spreading happiness all over the world.

The same notion is also echoed in a calendar done by a student.

The handmade calendar is shaped forming a Christmas tree at one side of the set and the numerical monthly dates at the other side.

Coming to the tree, it is skilled by extensive colour paper cutting and ribbon band design.

A piece of innovation is seen in a calendar made through minute handcrafted framing through ear cleaner and colour combination.

Every alternate ear cleaner is colored by red, blue, green and white colour to enhance the frame of the piece.

A patriotic concept is depicted while showing an abstract character is jumping from one mountain top to the other.

The painting of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose along with the Indian flag represents active patriotic conception and its importance in India.

The above calendar is followed by a further piece of handmade almanac of the popular character ‘Mumble‘ in the animated comedy movie, Happy Feet.

The almanac is produced with the innovative craftsmanship of the student through the portraiture of the penguin besides the numerical dates and holiday listing.

From the penguins to the Christmas tree, from the winter scene to the snowflakes all bring together to the credibility of the manual.

Kung Fu Panda has been the favourite of all the time.

It had raised above the plethora of the other CGI animated movies. It has been one of the most successful animated movies ever.

One of our efficient students has incorporated the character ‘King Fu Panda‘ in addition to the directory.

A set of marvellous colour combination and character focusing in the calendar has been a major part of it.

The foremost crucial point of emphasis is the landscape scenery of a countryside area with a hut crafted alongside bushes but the main topic of the event criteria is diverted.

So, in that case, the creation is good but it is unable to meet the requirement of the event organized.

The calendar also sees a marvel of art: kites flying in the sky. Another model of design is painted by a student to create an exceptional almanack.

MAAC Chowringhee organizes these types of events so that it becomes an inspirational ground for the students as well as the faculty of Maya.

Nevertheless, it has always been grand when it comes to an occasion.

Animation, VFX, graphics and others are not the only scope of us.

We set beyond all boundaries and stage our institute as one of the top-notch institutes in Kolkata.

We also offer Viewers’ Choice Awards for the best performance and the winner.

Among all students who have performed best in the contest are counted in the winner’s list and runner-ups.

This certainly provides an inspiration and motivation to the students who are trained here in the course of VFX and Animation.

After hard working the devoted students expects some kind of refreshment activities which we proffer to serve as an entertainment and get together basis.

MAAC Chowringhee does not discourage those students who in spite of trying hard does not do up to the mark in the event.

Instead, they are encouraged to perform well in the next event.

MAAC Chowringhee is ranked as the most favored institute by the animation, VFX and multimedia students of Kolkata.

It provides top-notch quality education about animation, VFX and multimedia to the students.

There are several events organized by MAAC Chowringhee throughout the year.

Seminars, master classes, contests, competitions and other fun events are planned and arranged.

As a result, students get the opportunity to meet and attend seminars and workshops by industry professionals.

This handmade calendar making competition is organized every year.

Just as every year, in this year also students from all other centers have participated and shown their artistic skills by making distinct varieties of the almanac.

Several concepts show the diverse individual opinions of the students that they gather from several fields of their experience.

It is evident that our students are made that efficient to meet any future requirements whenever needed.

VFX IN MAHABALI HANUMAN TV SERIES

Visual effects are widely known as VFX.

It plays a significant role in the daily tele-serials for Indian viewers.

One such most popular serial of these days is Sankat Mochan Mahabali Hanumaan on Sony TV.

Our today’s discussion will rotate around it.

This serial is teemed with VFX and thus enhances the look and feel of the serial very nicely.

In recent times, it has been observed that the one using VFX more in the serial you can engage more viewer.

This in turn aids in improving the TRP rating of the specific serial.

The first tele-serial to use VFX in the show was Ramanand Sagar’s mythological show popularly known as Ramayana.

Subsequently, other serials started following the trend using visual effects.

Legendary and historical series have wedded the fashionable with ancient stories and special effects to recreate the hoary to the engrossed viewers.

In this genre, Sankat Mochan Mahabali Hanumaan produced by Contiloe Productions has explored diverse known and unknown facets of the mighty Hanumaan.

PLANNING THE SETUP

After extended pre-production decisions, CEO of Contiloe, Abhimanyu Singh determined to set for the first mythological show Sankat Mochan Mahabali Hanumaan with multiple genres on Sony TV.

The crew has used state-of-the-art visual effects and stunts to tell the great tale.

This tale took viewers on a journey of the exciting life of Mahabali Hanuman right from his childhood from being a devotee of Lord Ram to being the conqueror of all evil.

It will also recollect the various events, bring to the surface his qualities and obtain morals from his life which are relevant in everyday life.

The most relevant part of it is the significance of VFX in the entire series.

A relevant point to be acknowledged is that it would have been impossible to accomplish the series without the use of VFX.

Moreover, VFX played an important role to establish the complete serial recalling minor to major events happened in the legendary life of Hanuman.

The pre-planning was done to set the story in a way that can create Mahabali Hanuman’s heroic persona and take the show connected to the viewers.

The unmatched show along with its concerned areas of VFX and special effects are relevant to assume the budget of the series.

UTILIZATION OF VFX TECHNIQUES

Being a mythological and supernatural series it was crucial to use special effects. VFX and special effects help us to accomplish something that is unfeasible in real life.

During the present day, Indian Television soaps and serials are also incorporating high-end VFX to embellish the story’s credibility.

In addition to it, grabbing existing and new viewer’s attention has become more relevant than ever.

However, the requirement of more developed use of special effects is essential to make the show look more appealing and authentic.

In Sankat Mochan Mahabali Hanumaan you can see here the efficient use of VFX where Ram is pointing his arrow in episode 486.

The above picture depicts the effective use of 3D and VFX.

At first, the model of Ram and Sita is composed of its background in a layer.

Then it is mingled with the second layer of Hanuman using VFX.

In order to show the sequence, Live-Action Effects and morphing are also used.

Morphing is discussed later in brief on the blog.

Several other techniques are also used to create fireflies, skin textures and other interesting visual effects such as eye colour changing, set extensions etc.

Another technique used is Chroma keying.

Chroma key compositing is a post-production technique in VFX Pipeline.

Where we shoot our subject or character on flat Green or Blue screen and later we can able to remove the particular background with the help of software’s for background replacement.

As a result, this technique allows us to incorporate one image or video into another.

This VFX technique is widely used to modify the background or to add something that is animated.

In episode 628 of the series the tiger is created with the help of 3D.

Though a touch of unrealism is hinted in this image but it had not failed to grab reader’s attention towards the show’s subsequent progress.

Morphing is also utilized in motion pictures that aid to alter an image or shape into another all the way through flawless conversion.

It is a type of special effect that is highly used in serials like Chandrakanta, Nagin, Ashoka Samrat and many more.

The above image is also suggestive of the fact that morphing had been used in this show to portray the character of ‘Narsimha’ in episode 555.

An efficient use of VFX is evident from the episode 516 when the ‘Mahakal Roop'(angry look) of Goddess Kali is shown doing Tandav dance.

During the earlier period, when technology was not so urbanized and advanced, morphing was done by stop motion.

However, this is not the situation now.

In the recent years, due to the advancement of technology, loads of software has been developed which assists us to do proper morphing.

On many levels, it seems to get inspired by Hollywood VFX works.

The use of VFX in all these television series is somewhat similar yet advanced.

It also enables us to see Snow Mountains, peacocks and even Lord Ganesha (A human with Elephant’s head).

VFX and VR

Virtual reality or VR is coming out as an important tool of VFX.

VFX artists are using VR technology to create those special effects that are hardest to create.

As for example, 360o videos and compositing, stitching panorama, HDR Lighting are created through it for making digital assets and dealing with stereo camera in the tele-serial.

Though the rating of VFX used in the show is decent, the production house is required to monitor specific areas of VFX more carefully.

They need a lot of advancements in the technical matters.

The team had profusely shown their artistic skill.

However, in terms of concept, more creativity is anticipated.

Here, in this show, the positive point is the application of VFX looked usual and realistic and attracted the viewers largely.

The color grading is done in an effective way to embellish the credibility of the present circumstances of the show.

FINAL DECREE

As per observation, it can be well stated that this serial is a landmark in Sony TV.

In terms of VFX, animation and colour grading, this fabulous show has literally raised the standard of technicalities in Indian Television.

The realistic approach of the show is indeed appreciable in concept, technicalities, creativity and innovation.

With the mounting trends, we can speculate that there will be increasing grid of VFX usage, ahead in future.

Immense opportunities are there in vfx industry just in a click away.
